What’s not hard to believe, is why it won Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Director at the Oscars that year. For me, it should have also won best music too, as Jack Nietzsche’s score was also sublime, but lost out, fairly, to John Williams’ Jaws. This is a truly, near faultless film, that brilliantly examines the thin line between crazy and sane, and how often it merely comes down to society’s opinion on what passes for normality.
